Trade Agreements

The Canadian government recognizes the import role international trade plays in the Canadian economy. To provide market access for Canadian goods and services, Canada establishes trade agreements with countries around the world.

Following provides an overview of the most significant trade agreements and ongoing negotiations with Canada:

  • The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)
    Overview of NAFTA, cross border movement of business persons, doing business under NAFTA, dispute settlement.
  • Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Republic of Armenia for the promotion and protection of investments signed on May 8, 1997.
  • Agreement between the the Government of the Republic of Armenia and Government of Canada on trade and commerce. The Agreement has entered in force on April 1, 1999.
  • Convention between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Republic of Armenia for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion With Respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital

    The Convention was signed:   Yerevan, 29 June 2004 and entered into force: 29 December 2005
